Individuals’ beliefs about health, illness, and healing influence their healthcare behaviors and shape different models of care. Beliefs are very powerful in healthcare. Beliefs can inflict powerful influences through mind and body and body interactions (CDHN, n.d.). These beliefs and their therapeutic manifestations have been in existence in society throughout history. All healing models try to address different maladies of the human condition. One common thing with all healing models is that they all treat the same health problems and conditions; such as backache, headache, and others (CDHN, n.d.). This paper provides an in-depth discussion of models of health and healing.
